Mrs. Janie D. Wilson, PhD, affectionately known as Sister Janie, stands out as a remarkable figure in the field of biblical counseling. A proud member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), she is not only a certified biblical counselor but also the only African-American female overseeing an ACBC training center worldwide. As the founder and President/COO of Peninsula Biblical Counseling Ministries (PBCM), located at Agape InnerCity Community Church in Charleston, South Carolina, she plays a crucial role in empowering individuals with the essential skills for effective biblical counseling.

Dr. Wilson's academic journey from 2002 to 2015 is noteworthy; she earned a Bachelor’s degree, a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling (MABC), a Master’s in Pastoral Ministries (MAPM), and a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biblical Counseling. Her dedication to education shines through her role as a past instructor at Cummins Memorial Theological Seminary, where she passionately imparted her extensive knowledge to aspiring counselors.

Dr. Wilson teaches through various “Intensives” on critical topics, including anxiety, depression, anger, alcoholism, the institution of marriage, biblical parenting, and numerous other relevant issues. She also conducts weekly biblical counseling classes and offers private counseling sessions for individuals.

Awarded the prestigious Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest civilian honor, Dr. Wilson sees her most significant ministry as her marriage to her best friend, The Rev. Dr. Dallas H. Wilson, Jr. Together, they have spent 35 years committed to spreading the Gospel and transforming lives for the Kingdom of God. They cherish their family, which includes two children, Deidre and Dean, four grandchildren—Kavon, Erick, Nile, and Penelope—and two great-grandchildren, Adonis Nickalas and Nolan Dallas, lovingly called “our GG’s.” Through her life and work, Sister Janie exemplifies a profound commitment to faith, education, and community service.
